The Emma Harris Trio are a highly acclaimed Jazz outfit and are gaining recognition on the UK Jazz scene for their fresh soulful renditions of Jazz Standards.
Their repertoire includes a diverse mix of songs from the sultry, smokey blues of Sarah Vaughn's 'Black Coffee' to the high speed swing of Ellington's 'Take the A Train'.
From the Soulful, Gospel tones of God 'Bless The Child' to the Roberta Flack's 'Feel like makin Love' and Anita Baker's 'Sweet Love'. Emma's vocals are raw and passionate yet silky smooth and always captivating.
Swedish born UK-based Anders Olinder on Piano/Hammond organ provides the perfect accompaniment for Emma's Soulful voice. Anders studied with Jason Rebello and has played for Pee Wee Ellis, Courtney Pine, Peter Gabriel, Tony Kofi and Tony Remi amongst many others.
Also featuring Andrew Tween on Drums, Andrew has done two European tours with Pee Wee Ellis and Fred Wesley. He has also worked with Dave Newton (Stacey Kent), Dave Green, Tony Remy (Annie Lennox) Cameron Pierre. Andrew also tours with Mercury Folk Award winner Seth Lakeman.
Anders and Andrew have worked together for many years and have a finely honed intuitive musical communication with each other that is a pleasure to hear.
The Emma Harris Trio sometimes expands to become a Quartet or a Quintet depending on the venue.
The Trio often features some of the Southwest's most talented jazz musicians. With the addition of Bass and Sax or Trumpet, the band can fill any space.
